Fans of the Starship Enterprise and its crew are looking forward to May 17th, 2013, the release date of the next feature film based on the creation of Gene Roddenberry. Many rumors and stories have been spread while official announcements are few and far between. This keeps many fans guessing as they anticipate watching the movie on the big screen.
An official title has yet to be released for the new movie. News sources and other people are simply calling it Star Trek 2. IMDB.com simply has it listed as Untitled Star Trek Sequel. Want more? Many thought the villian for Star Trek 2 would be the classic series character Khan after a picture of actors Benedict Cumberbatch as the villain and Zachary Quinto as Spock was leaked from the set. This rumor has been repeatedly refuted by the studio. It has been announced by Keith Urban that the character is Gary Mitchell, a human granted extreme powers at the galactic barrier. Writer/co-producer Bob Orci has denied this. It may still be true given Orci’s history of denying truths to mislead fans before a release.
